FUTURE REFERENCE
An archive of resources and references for students preparing for college applications.

OUR VISION
OUR MISSION
Our mission for Future Reference is to provide college readiness resources for those who will be first generation college students. We are first generation students who are preparing for college and we believe that we should give a guiding hand to others like us on our journey. We know the challenges of preparing for college on our own so we aim to create a place where others can figure out how to start their college process. The name Future Reference stems from the idea that students will use our website as a future reference to get started on the college process.
WHY SHARE?
Why not? We were fortunate enough to have older siblings and generous counselors to help us through the process. We did our own research and made mistakes. We learned from our mistakes and found what works for us and what doesn't. Whether you are just entering high school or a couple months away from college applications, our website can still be used as a student’s future reference to motivate them to get started. Here you can find resources for many factors of your college application such as SAT and ACT prep, scholarships, advice panels, and more. As we lay down the foundation of the college process, we hope that students utilize our website as their future reference for their own success.

COLLEGE RESEARCH
How do you prepare for college if you have no idea where you want to be? Figuring out what you are looking for in college could be the first step. Create a google sheet or an excel sheet to keep track of what institutions you are looking at, what you like about them, what you dislike, their application requirement, and application deadlines. Recording things like these on a singular document will make it very convenient for you to keep track of what you have already researched and also help you build a strong list of schools.
